Lisa Ballard is a fine artist, Associate Member of the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts and is primarily known for her emotive paintings of landscapes.
Along with finding inspiration in the landscape that surrounds her at home in Ireland, Ballard has found traveling to be invaluable in her personal exploration into painting as a medium, supplying new ideas, always changing and challenging. Most recently the dramatic and beautiful winter landscape of Iceland and the expansive American desert have drawn her in, the colours, scale and light so vividly different to Ireland.
Since graduating in 2003, Lisa has received many prestigious awards, including the President’s Prize at the Royal Ulster Academy and the Kilkenny Art Gallery Prize. Her work is held in many private and public collections, including by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Irish Office of Public Works.
