“Words are the wrong currency for a picture”
Introducing Joe Morris, an artist from the magical land of Rotherham. Morris uses a methodical indirect painting process inspired by Northern Renaissance artists such as Jan Van Eyck and Petrus Christus, layering thin, translucent glazes to achieve great depth, realism, and dramatic lighting.
Morris is a passionate creator whose career has spanned concept based sculpture, painting, and photography, as well as other less conventional disciplines
Recently, he has been experimenting with classical painting techniques, and has turned his focus to traditional figurative and still-life oil painting.
